Self Assessment before you apply for AIP

AIP designation is granted by the Society of Internet Professionals (SIP) to an applicant who has met the requirements as outlined in AIP Application.

SIP members with AIP designation may use special logo and AIP letters with their name. The status / designation may be withdrawn if deemed necessary by SIP. AIP certification has to be renewed every year to keep-up with the technology and changing requirements. (Revoking, renewal and re-training are dealt in Certification Agreement, which will be provided after the approval of your application).

An application for AIP will be assessed under many categories, points are awarded based on the type and length of background for each category, a total of 70 points is required. A self-Assessment is given below.

The criteria is structured in such a way that mature professionals without any Internet education but with proven industry experience and some specialist continuing education can apply for the AIP

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

An application for AIP will be assessed on the following categories (please note that this assessment only pertains to Requirements 1 and 2 of the entire Process):

(A) Education: Mandatory, applicant needs a minimum of 10 points. Add 25% if the Education pertains to Computers, Information System /Technology.

(B) Internet Training: Special mandatory category. An applicant must have completed a recognised training /examination (50 points) or have completed five specialist continuing education / training in the selected stream (5 points).

(C) Experience: No minimum points required.

(D) Internet Related Experience: Mandatory category. An applicant to have a minimum of 10 points. For mature applicant without any AIP recognised qualification, five years of documented experience is required accumulating 50 points in this category.

(E) Publications/Dissertation Papers: Extra points can be earned if the applicant has authored any books related to the Internet or has written articles/dissertations related to the selected AIP stream.

The criteria is structured in such a way that mature professionals without any Internet education but with proven industry experience and some specialist continuing education can apply for the AIP.
